The quality of third party Lithium-ion batteries is extremely poor even when purchased from reputable vendors. I know this first hand from years of experience. Like a mentioned previously a swollen battery is not considered to be a safety issue. Under ideal conditions and normal use the expected cycle count is 1,000 cycles for the battery. I am not aware of any Apple document where Apple guarantees the battery to last 1,000 cycles. The Battery is not guaranteed to last 1,000 cycles.
